Dan landed in NC from Honolulu in 1970 and was a track scholarship athlete at UNC-CH. Upon graduation he launched an energy and conservation company, married Beth (a Chapel Hill native) and much to the surprise of many, settled down in Chatham County rather than the Aloha State! They are endowed scholarship donors within the UNC Educational Foundation and loyal Rams Club members. Their four children are all currently at NC universities—divided “between the mountains and the sea” (UNC-Wilmington, Elon, Appalachian State and UNC-CH). Dan can often be found on the road—combining research for his next project with a personal visit to see his family.
While Dan’s professional passion is real estate development, his personal life commitments include: membership in the East Chapel Hill Rotary Club, volunteering as a monthly cook at Chapel Hill’s Ronald McDonald House, and volunteering at the Durham Rescue Mission.
Dan and Beth visit the Aloha State every four years—when the Tar Heels play in the Maui Classic. But Dan’s life accomplishments are local and he and Beth plan to call Chapel Hill home for years to come. He is proud to bring his tenure and expertise to NewStone Realty.
